Thread: About J1708 protocol

    Question About J1708 protocol

    Hi,
    i am working on STN1110 interpreter IC and made a circuit accordingly given in datasheet.

    we tested it on Accent Hyundai Car .
    we successfully get data and communicated with ECU.

    now we want to use this in trucks.
    But in the heavy duty trucks there should be a two types of protocols used .
    1.SAE J1939
    2.J1708

    so when we used this STN1110 for SAEJ1939 it should not connected with ECU .
    if truck works on J1708 then this is is not works .
    so for this what i have to do ????

    Is there any other way to build any compatible circuit for J1708 to communicated using RS232.????:
