G35 Mounts and Screens - Shiping Late June

What happened to the Infiniti G35 mounts and screens at the mp3car store? The only thing I could find left is the pre-2005 mount (without a screen) Did the rest of them get sold out with no plans of renewing, or what?

The G35 mounts have been taken off because of a change that Xenarc has made to the LCDs. The ribbon cable on the newer Xenarcs is located at a different part of the screen, which ends up making the LCD ribbon cables that we swap out too short. We are working on this. The housing is still available and will work only if you already have one of the older Xenarc models. Call the store for availability of the 05/06 models.

Hmm, another thought; has any thought been given to putting transflective Lilli's in the G35 housing, since you have to get new ones now anyways?

We have thought about it, nothing finale yet. We need to find a 20 inch LCD ribbon cable to do this (Due to posistion of the of the cable input on the LCD).

We are, however, putting the transflective screens in the WRX kits once we recieve our next order of transflectives.

I sent the following email to the store email address:

This is for order number 6628, March 8, 2006.

I ordered a Xenarc 700TSV, with the G35 housing for a 2005 G35. It has worked great for the past year, but... the ribbon cable was always somewhat loose in it's connection to the circuit board. It finally quit working on me today, and it was that the ribbon cable came loose from the circuit board. I rarely closed the compartment, so there was little stress on the ribbon cable, but apparently it was enough, after a year of usage, to make it come loose from the circuit board.

I tried re-attaching it, but that did not work.

The G35 Xenarcs are no longer available on your website, and it looks like the new Xenarcs don't have a long enough cable. Do you have any left in-stock that I can purchase, or do you have any solution for me? I'm currently carPC-less due to this, and if you take a look at my account (under mp3car@caelric.com) you'll see that I have made substantial purchases throughout the past two years.

My problem has been resolved. Once again, outstanding support from the MP3Car store staff, specifically Matt!

Sending me a new circuit board. They offered to replace it themselves, but it's quicker if they just send it to me for me to replace.
