    @ Leddy OBDII

    Leddy,

I saw you put some gauges into your skin for OBDII. I'm planning to make this also work in NMC. What proggy did you use and which interface do you have for OBDII ? I've been looking in the OBDII part of mp3car, but still I cannot decide/find out what is best. I myself have the ELM type.

I'm also looking for something that integrates with NMC... for now I'm using OBDMaster embedded through external apps. Havent modded the skin yet for it, but I might do so later....

I also have an Elmscan, and OBD Master is the only program that worked pretty well for me... Features arent the best, and it lacks some stuff I'd have liked to see...

Another thing I would like to see is embedding OBD into a Frontend... That would be cool, having Speed/GPS Speed information, stuff like autochecking for DTCs every morning or somethign so you know whats going on... Logging of past x minutes of OBD Data in case of an accident or something... Logging max data for trips and such? All this integrated IN the fronentd would be awesome!

Try OBDMaster, its fine to use with a TS...

I have an autotap scantool. It's the older AT1 version that is compatible with dos. They have a windows version also. I haven't tried using it in NMC yet. my button leads to the dos version as I prefer it. I hear good things about the elm converters. They are inexpensive also.

I haven't played with OBDMaster myself, but autotap and EFILive seem to do the trick for me. EFILive has some neat gauges and what not. It's a bit pricey just for perrty gauges tho.

I would have actually preffered to buy autotap, but I read a bit (obviously not enough) and thought the Elmscans were the "best" option.... I then realized it has some diadvantages which are bothersome when compared to autotap (namely its slower)

    Thanks for replying all.
I'll have a try on the progs you all mentioned. Only disadvantage of the ELM I have is that it's serial ... and indeed, the refresh rate aint high. (that's what I read also). Didn't have the time to experiment with it a lot, that's why I asked about it, seeing it integrated in Leddy's skin. It would be great knowing the average fuel consumption ...
