    what skin resolution?

sorry if this is a noob question, but i am a noob when it comes to skinning.

I hav been reading on the forums that the ideal display resolution is 800x480. So my question is: Does this mean that when making images for new skin in PSP that the image size should be 800x480?

Thanks in advance for any help

Yes, you need to make the image size in paint shop to 800x480. Also some people use 800x600 as well, so you might want to consider make a skin in both sizes.

in NMC you can make it in either 800x600 or 800x480 and it will be automatically resized to the users chosen screen resolution... do basically there is no need for you to make it yourself in 2 resoltuions!

as far as I know RR, Frodoplayer and NMC all have this auto-resisiznfg function

Yes, but sometime the resized image does not look as good as the orignal size.

I dont see why people want to use 800x600 on a 16:9 display... it makes no sense... that is why they make the skin in 800x480, then stretch it up and then the display squeezes it down...

looks worse than a skin made for the 16:9 reso

and I think NMCs resizing is very smooth if I recall correctly... RR's resize occasionally gives bad quality, but it isnt majos

Most people can't use800x480 cause of there hardware thats why they use 800x600 on the 16:9 display

It looks great on a xenarc don't matter if it is 800x600
