oh yeah sorry my brain is fried with this webcam thing![]()
have you taken a look at sourceforge.net...? there are many interesting projects about capturing webcam source...
I have done this with java/jmf .. works fine.. but hard to setup..

yeah and therefore I suggest you, to use 'VLC media player'!
You can make everything with that tool..
e.g. starting your webcam source through 'vlc command line options' as an external application in NMC.. hope netsuo will fix that cmd bug![]()

a command like:
note:the 'PC Camera (6005 CIF)' is the WDM driver name of my Webcamc:\vlc.exe dshow:// :dshow-vdev="PC Camera (6005 CIF)" :dshow-adev="Intel(r) integriertes Audio" :no-dshow-size="320x240" :dshow-config :no-dshow-tuner
looks like:

or you can simply start-transcoding/close vlc in background with NCS with every available decoder and bitrate on your machine, to capture the output in a file.. with options like:
vlc is very simple and have guis to create that code above.c:\vlc.exe dshow:// :dshow-vdev="PC Camera (6005 CIF)" :dshow-adev="Intel(r) integriertes Audio" :dshow-size="320x240" :dshow-config :no-dshow-tuner :sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=1024,scale=1,acode c=mpga,ab=192,channels=2}:duplicate{dst=std{access =file,mux=ts,url="C:\output.mpg"}}
@netsuo, sorry to gone offtopic too but its kind a 'hardware control' too![]()
Hi!
What codec did you use to make the video? I only get audio, no video.
Why not make a WindowsMedia file, it's smaler and needs no special codecs to play. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...r/default.aspx

No problems on offtopic !!
I'm very happy with your tests on NCS !! Give me mooooore![]()

Is it skinable tho?Originally Posted by karifan
Right now my app looks like it's apart of NMC like my FD Skin
Is this possible?
My only problem is saving the AVI i might look into capturing the stream into some custom code to encode the avi with the codec i want.
If the above software is skinable then i'll take a look at it![]()

Yes it is skinable and I can even play movies in .rar, .zip, .bin, .cue... files.
I think it would be great idea to have a skin for this application.
PS: www.videolan.org - their home page.
Well maybe it was not a nice example but "vcodec=mp4v" is a container format for "NeroDigital, 3ivx, DivX, XviD or RealMPEG4" and depends on your system to be played.. Just use the gui of vlc and choose a real avi format..Originally Posted by Jeep
And itīs nothing about to use WindowsMediaEncoder... But VLCīs feature is to be easy accessable and start complex function (e.g. in connection with NMC) by just ONE click!
