Can't wait for it... ufnrotunately I've been just so busy.... but as soon as NMC comes out I'll release some NeoScripts to the community.... namely a Tracker app should be out (NeoScript + PHP scripts), and some other goodies....

Any word on phone control integration for next version?

well phoneCo should be able to be integrated as an external app.

Your looked at NeoScript so id like to know can u get the directory NMC is playing?

I was thinking of doing a plugin so u can click an icon and it burns a music cd based on the NMC album thats playing.

    Semi useless i know

I'm trying to create better skinnable apps cause dragonbtv has left his apps basiclly and they aren't usefull in the state they are in.

Hmm... I'm not sure.... you'll need to ask netsuo... I think however that it would be best to burn a Playlist, no? (It is really easy to add an entire directory to a playlist)...

Yeah but as an external app it wont popup when a call comes in, etc... + you cant have battery/signal indicator in all skins, yada, yada....

Yeah... I'm thinking whether it would be possible to extract this stuff from NeoScripting.... but maybe phoco will need his intervention to have "native" support...

have you spoken to netsuo lately? I've been waiting for him to get some stuff out (not only NMC but tutorials, etc) in french so I can help him translate the docs and such....

    Directory works like this:

u have a list with your directories, you click into a directory, then you see all your files (say, like RR's Audio Browser), you hit play and the selected song starts playing... it will play all files in that directory, then go up, into the next directory and continue playing... so if you open a certain artist it will play all of his albums, etc...

A playlist can be created with any files you want in any order, it then will appear in the directory you saved it. When you double click it, it will open the plauylist just like if it were a directory, you can select the files and play all of them, if you hit "Up" it goes back to the directory that the playlist lies in... I also think IIRC, that playlists can have entire subdirectories inside them, making them multi-level!

i dont know if i see the advantage still

databases are much more powerful and flexible for handling ANY sort of data. directory based is just a database structure using folders. the only advantage i see is in lack of initial prep time

database playlists could be made to incorporate those advanced functions, etc etc
