I'm sorry being the first one!
Anyway, I would like to test your nice looking Neon Boombox but my MacBook Pro (with an italian Leopard Mac OS X) refuses to run it. Attached you can find the crash log.
Hope you can help!
Thanks.
Thank you DeltaBi for your interest in NeonBoombox.
I cannot tell from the crash log why you are unable to launch our program (the program crashes somewhere in apples frameworks, not in my program itself). I suspect that either your itunes XML file is corrupt or has improper permission (or perhaps NeonBoombox itself has been set with faulty permissions), or something to do with your italian localization. If you could please open your console app in your utilities folder and post the output after trying again to launch NeonBoombox and I'm sure I can be of more assistance.
hi i am having the exact same problem on the same machine (macbook pro) but without the italian localization. here is the log that appeared in the console:
yeah the crash comes somewhere in the music module init process so it surely must have something to do with the itunes xml (i hope) will you please delete it then open itunes and quit itunes to recreate it. then check the permissions on it and try again. In the mean time i will step up the error checking and reporting in the music module init and post a build here that will help me better understand where the problem is.
thank you guys for helping out with getting this thing off the ground. expect a new build tonight, and hopefully a fix shortly after
I tried after a rebuild of the itunes xml file, but the crash persisted.
However with an empty iTunes library the application starts without any problem.... I'll try to understand if the crash depends on some attributes of the MP3 files.
ok anybody having the trouble described above please download this build and post your console output for me please. (only download and post this builds output if you are in fact having this very problem please)
ok i need to figure out how to post an attachment apparently. I do have a theory that the crashing is related to foreign characters in the file name... or one of the other file attributes. can somebody verify this?
so here is a genius idea I just had. how about people having this post their iTunes XML files, if you all don't mind. It will be alot easier for me to track the problem if I have a copy of one that makes Neonboombox crash
