How does it sound? Okay? If you think so, save your money. If it is lacking, consider adding something for the higher frequencies like tweeters.

Hi, I have recently put in an aftermarket receiver and two 6x9 rear speakers. I am currently saving for one 12 inch sub and also saving for an amp. Is there anything else i should get or is that just fine?

It sounds alright buts its not what im looking for, im looking for a deeper throatier sound, that's why im thinking sub and amp. But i will defiantly keep tweeters in mind. Thanks for the help.
I will always recommend replacing all the speakers (not just the rear) and putting an amp to them. You might be able to get an amp that will drive the speakers and the sub that will suit your needs. If you're sub's not going to take too much power, you don't need too much for the speakers either. Sounds like price is a major thing here for you though, so do what you can to get a sound you're happy with. Keep in mind costs you might not notice right away, like cabling, box for the sub, and install if you're not going to do it yourself.
Im going to do the 4 speakers that i have left, in the future once i get some free time and money. Well price isnt a real big thing its just saving it for a while thats the thing haha burns a hole in my pocket. Ive know a guy that is selling sub with box and amp so im gonna buy that as a package. Ill be installing it myself so i wont have to worry about paying somebody to do the installation.
It depends on how you like to listen to your music. If you are into high sound quality, you probably want to put some speakers up front and cut the volume of the rear speakers. As for the sub, just make sure the box is as solid as possible. Use at least 3/4 inch MDF (can buy it at lowes, or home depot).
