Hey all,
Well i am looking to start in on my colorado build, and really only have on main question. I have done some searching for other colorado builds (only a couple that i saw), and was wondering if anyone has any input on the size screen that should be used?
Otherwise, i will just have to wait until i pick it up to measure and go from there.

screen size is completly up to you, and really depends on your overall requirements-- i believe that the colorado has a double din radio, so a bybyte frame, and 7" screen will drop right in with no modification to the dash. if you choose to go bigger than that, the only limit is how much, time money, and fabrication skills you have(i keep saying this hoping someone will beat me to installing a 42" touchscreen, so i won't have to).

Ok so here is the layout of my stock radio
It is 8 1/16" diagonal, 4 1/8" tall and 7 1/4" wide. so i thought that a 16:9 8" screen might work?

I would be getting rid of the bezel hopefully, and just mounting the screen in the dash. however i don't know that dimensions of just the screen.
Or would it be better to go with the 7" and make some type of backing plate?

That looks like it will fit perfectly height wise, but with a bit of extra room width wise. Is it feasible to remove the screen from the enclosure, and just use that?
Bump for info on removing the lcd from the casing.
most will fabricate the casing into the dash, and that would make the monitor bolt right up.
Do most people simply mount the display "as is" behind the dash?
