the hottest my cpu as shown is 100f on a 110 degree day and thats with no cooling other than the cpu fan, on a 3 hour trip stored in the trunk of my car. You have nothing to worry about there.
So?
65w TDP is NOTHING for a CPU. There are CPUs on the marked that have twice the TDP and have been used in vehicle installations. That means 65W TPD on just the processor. That is a ton of heat to get rid of.
There are plenty of power solutions for a CPU of this power. AS long as it is adequately cooled, it will work just fine.

It depends entirely on the case in which the setup is put. A MoCoSo case doesn't have much airflow, so a 65w CPU is the max I'd put in there. I have a MoCoSo case with a 45w AMD 4850e, and it runs hot. I'm actually thinking about drilling holes directly above the CPU fan, I've heard that helps.
Kross
Do you have a old MoCoSo case with the exhaust and ventalation directly across from each other or one of the new ones with the intake and exhaust offset?
The older one, 3rd generation I believe. Purchased 10/16/08.
sooo....
how bout this one?

basically the same thing but cheaper.
sounds like the heat won't be too much of an issue. i am going to mod a box for the cpu myself, either by fabricating thin sheet metal or gutting an old game station box. either way i plan on giving it a "swiss chesse" design to ensure adequate air flow. time to pull the trigger on this soma*****!
If you want decent video, look for a board that has an nVidia chipset & onboard video.
honestly, a PCI or PCI-E card of any sort is a major hassle in a vehicle. The normal bumps & vibrations of every day driving can cause them to work loose.
Ever had a PC shipped to you and cards come loose in shipping, causing you to open the case and reseat them for the PC to work?
Now imagine doing that on a semi-regular basis (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or so)....
Talk about a PITA.
the built-in video is dvi-i.. very very high quality. I'm not running any high end games or anything so i dont have a benchmark but for in card video its just fine.
