    New setup

I have made a couple of carputer from a full size desktop comapq 166mmx then to a 200mhz laptop. Now its time to do it right. So i want the common things.
    -Bluetooth
    -Ipod (iphone control)
    -DVD
    -Nav
    -OBD-II
    -Backup Camera or sonar
    -Radio
    -...

    Now for the weird stuff...
-Police scanner I have a bcd996 digtal police scanner i would love to control. They sell a remote head for it so there must be a way i can control it some how.
-Push to start (touch to start) I was working on a push to start for my pathfinder running a basic stamp. I have written all the code just have not put it in. Would love to have it touch.
-Control leds. I have a vol fireman and would love a screen to control my lights.

I am putting all this in to a 2005 nissan pathfinder.
    Hardware i am looking at
    - Dell SX280 with 1GB 2.5 P4 ???
    - 629GL-70NP/C/T ???
-DC to DC power supply ???
-Also have to baisc stamps to work with.

Just wanted all your thoughts and if this is dueable. Any help would be a appreciated.

You can control the LED's using a fusion brain.

The Optiplex can be a problem to power.

Optiplex SX280 units suck. I have a shelf full of dead ones in my office.

And, as BB said, they aren't easy to power in the car. You're better off buying an EEE box.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
