New to carpc, proposed system setup, Feedback welcome.

Hello all. I'm new to the idea of using a carpc. Not new to car audio or pc's. Just new to car pc.

    My proposed setup is:

    CarPC: RevoSys x500
    EQ: Audio Conrtol DQS
    Crossover: Lanzar OPTIX10
    Amps: Hifonics ZXi60.4 + 1K (x2)
Speakers: MB Quart FSA 216 (x2)
    Subwoofers: JL Audio 10W3v3-2 (x2)

I've been doing a lot of research on carpc's. The difficult thing that I keep running into is how to go about getting low level rca signal output properly. This why I'm thinking about going with the RevoSys X500 as it has front, rear and subwoofer outputs. This seems to be the only option that I've found to have that type of funcionality just like a regular car audio hu would have.

Please if I am mistaken and overlooked something, let me know. As I encourage any and all advice in the setup. Being that I am new to the CarPc stuff.

Thank You for any info you may be able to provide.

have you read the all-in-one pros/cons in the threads like the one linked to in my sig yet?

something that could be a major deciding factor is how it handles the sub output-- is it a fixed x-over? if you can control it, does it need special drivers?(i haven't seen many bad reviews on revosys, so i would expect this to be easily answered)

what kind of issues are you having with how to setup the pc to output to the amps?
i run a sound-quality based setup using a external soundcard, and have audio quality, and control that outpaces any headunit under $1200(not including the stuff when used with the external processor)..

Thank you soundman for your reply. After submitting the post I kept reading and researching. I'm no longer confused about how to get audio out of the carpc to the amps. My only concern now is front rear fading. I've read in other posts of yours that you don't use rear speakers. So I understand that you may or may not have much help in this area.

I would just negate rear speakers all together myself. I enjoy having the rear fill. I like feeling ecompassed by sound. That's why the ability to fade/balance completely is so important to me.

As far as the sub output on the revosys x500 is concerned. I emailed them questions about that rca outs on the unit. The person I got a response from only said that as far as he new they are all independant. So that was absolutely no help. I'll be call them tomorrow.

i understand. from what i have read before, i think that centrafuse can do front/rear fade, though i don't use it, so can't confirm it..

otherwise, the audiocontrol eq has output level adjustment, so you can manually use those, or you can use the gain controls... i know neither are as easy to use as a fader control on a radio, but that is the world of carpc's..
