If you choose the right CPU, the AM3 setup.
A good low-power draw CPU will have far more performance, which is key if you want the PC to do audio processing for SQ.
So i'm prepping to do my first Car PC this summer. I'm a heavily experienced PC maker and Modder, and i already have lots of hardware laying around. I'm also an experienced Audio Installer, from many personal builds over the last 10 years. So my first question for the community is a simple choice of some platform hardware.
I have 3 different Base platforms i can use for my project as listed below.
Via EPIA-M10000
Acer Acer AspireRevo AR1600-U910H (single core Atom)
ASUS M4A78LT-M AM3 760G HDMI Micro ATX W/ a dual core Athlon 2
All 3 have their merits from Low Power consumption(epia, Acer) to expandability(asus). I already own all of them for various reasons, and have plenty of parts to add in and tinker with.
I'd like to be able to emphasize SQ, reliability, and responsiveness. I Live in PA and we have wide Temperature Variation from -10 to 110 throughout the year.
Which Platform would you choose, and why?
