Aopen MiniPC DVI Connector

Okay I have the AOpen MiniPC. It comes with an adaptor that converts dvi to vga (this http://www.pacificcable.com/Picture_...taName=DVIHD15 ) I don't have enough room for the connector and vga cord so....

Can I... Plug this product http://www.pacificcable.com/Picture_...DVIIDL-MF-14IN straight into the aopen pc, then use the supplied dvi to vga connector, and then plug my lilliput into that without signal loss and with compatability?

Will the middle dvi adaptor still send the signal correctly?

If you only have a DVI out on your computer system....can you just use a DVI to VGA (for a xenarc 7" screen) adapter????????????
I was told you had to have a expensive box to convert the digital signal from your computer to a analog signal to go into your monitor?!?!?!?!
What is the right way?

No, you don't need an expensive box or anything.
Hell, you don't even need the comparaively expensive cable that the OP linked to.

Heya

I ran into the same space problem with my Aopen i945Gtt-VFA motherboard, what your thinking will work.

I attacked it a little differently I used DVI male to VGA male cable and then a female to female vga adapter to connect my Lilliput monitor to the VGA on the cable (all purchased from Pacific Cable). Note you can purchase a DVI male to VGA female cable but thats a custom very expensive cable (as least it was every where I looked).

I went this route because the supplied Aopen DVI to VGA adaptor is rather large and only has one screw connection on the DVI side this did not make for a very good connection (at least mine did). The female to female VGA adapter is tiny in comparison has to two screw connections on either side.

Hopefully it will give me the room I needed.

Howdy,

You should be fine but the cable you mentioned is only 6 feet, I needed a long run at least 20 feet got a 25 footer worked great.

But unfortunately the length I needed was only available in DVI male to VGA male but the female to female vga adaptor is tiny

.
