    Programming Advice

What programing language should I learn in order to modify/develop front ends? If I have a choice, which is easiest to learn. Can I learn from a book? Is there a better way than going back to school?

I learned Basic in 1979 and haven't programed since. This may be an opportunity to learn something new.

If all you want to do is front ends, then you are probably fine with Visual Basic. If you want to get a little more advanced I would recommend C#.

After that it really depends on what you want to do besides front ends.

You can learn all you need from books and online tutorials and references.

If you want to become a professional programmer you may want to go to school.
