    XM Clarification?

I've searched and searched, but I still need a little clarification. I'm looking to integrate XM into an HU-less install.

    My Setup:
    • C2D (most threads seem to involve VIA boards)
    • Centrafuse Front End
    • No Head Unit
    • Standard Issue XM Direct Receiver

    My Choices:
    1. Buy One of These to Convert the Signal to USB
    2. Figure Out a Custom Cable to Interface with a Serial Port?
    3. Purchase and Upgraded XM Direct w/ Optical Out (Presumably for Those With Soundcards That Accept Optical In)

    That about it?

I've used the serial custom cable http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/hard...ter-guide.html -without a problem and it's cheap but since I went C2D my mobo uses only USB I now use mp3car usb adapter. I found there is no difference in connection speed and sound they both work equally well. Only that with mp3car's adapter you must install the driver -no biggy. So if price is a issue go with serial. Can't comment on optical..

Do you know of anyone that's done the mod with an XM Direct?
