I hope you arent hot swapping them. That can be a big no no for your IDE channels assuming they are internal.

Are they external usb/firewire drives, or internal IDE/SATA drives? How are you plugging them in? If they are IDE, have you selected the correct channels for them (Master/Slave/CS)?

Dont believe you have what? Hot swapped them?

And what kind of drives are they? And dont say dvd/cd. The data transfer method is what we need. IDE/SATA/USB/1394.

Hot swapping is when you pull out drives and put drives in while the computer is still on, or not completely off.

Doesnt answer that at all. You havent been around computers much at all have you...

Well anyways, here is a quick lesson...

IDE = Big usually flat ribbon. A good 4cm or so wide. Inside.
SATA = 8wires in a small little connector. 15mm by 5mm rectangularish. Inside.
USB = I hope you know what this is. On the outside.
1394 = "Firewire" - mac's horrible attempt at a new format. Small little plug on the outside that usually says 1394 above it.

If it is IDE or SATA, do you have it on Master, Slave, or Cable Select?

    Something like that then?

Where is your jumper positioned? Master, Cable Select, or Slave?

You are giving a lot of information, but unfortuneatly none of it is useful. Nothing in any of the posts except for "ide interface" has been helpful in any way. Brand names have nothing to do with how they work. IDE is the file transfer method. So in answer to the first question I asked, it would be "IDE". That's it.

So here is the next question in case you missed it: Where is your jumper positioned? Master, Cable Select, or Slave?
