    Power Supply decision

I want to start off by thanking everyone who participates in these forums, this place is a great resource for the Carpc enthusiast or tech junkies like.

Now to the thread, I have just put together a computer form leftover parts i had layin around heres the specs:

    2.66 celeren d proccesor
    ECS pt890t-a Mobo
    128mb Pci-E e-GeForfce 7100gs
    1gb DDR2 -667 ram
20gb Ide hard drive(plan on upgrading to a laptop harddrive)
dvd rom(i have a slim drive just need the adaptop for ide)
    Bluetooth dongle
    WiFi adapter
    webcam

Now my main quesitons is about power consumption, I have been reading about it for a couple of days but i just cant seem to make a up my mind on an educated decision of what kind of psu to go with. After reading around i found that the M2-ATX or DSATX. Now i know that the m2ATX might not be abel to offer enough power but im not sure yet, also is there more option?

    thanks in davance evryone!

    (2.66GHz - 256KB) 1.4V
    (1.25V~1.4V) 1.55V 78A 84W 67° C

those are the specs for my proccesor but i still cant seem to figure out a solution for my power suply. So far im going with the DSATX if theres a better option someone please let me know and what also take into consideration that there will eb a good amounbt of peripherals connected to the motherboards like usb, blutooth donlge, gps, camara, obdii etc...

I was looking at powerstream power supplies. They have a 500watt power supply that runs from the car. The only response ive got from the mp3car comunity is that one person has the 400watt version and they like it. Here is the link.

    http://www.powerstream.com/DC-PC-12V-400.htm 400 watt
http://www.powerstream.com/DC-ATX-12v.htm list of all car power supplies from them

I will have to rebuild my whole carpc if i get one. But i think i will make a gaming machine if i do

p.s. i have a P4 3.2ghz system with 1gig of ram and the usuall pc stuff. Plus a nvidia 126meg card(edit: im leaving it 126meg is probably right ). I used a home 250 watt supply and it only lasted a couple hours. Long enough to install windows and set everything up. Its my 4th pc in the comp room so no big deal. Anyways, put a 450 in...no problems now. In fact i think i smoked two 250 watt supplies i had laying around.

p.p.s. good luck. The power supply is the single most important "thought about" part in a carpc!!!!

Power on/off, Nope they pretty much just have power supplies. They have the biggest one ive found so far. 500watts. Unlcear on hibernate, it is designed for pc use. I would think that hibernate would work with them. I did read somewhere that you might be able to use 2 M2-ATXs to get upwards of 300+ watts. You would need to search for it though.

    Good luck

Understand that the PSU has nothing to do with hibernation. The PC itself has to be setup to hibernate when you press thepower button.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
