Arrow Carputer in a MKIV Supra

I have been reading this forum for a few days and still have questions..

I have recently put a MAP-ECU2 in my car which is Windows based and I've used my friends Laptop to tune my car with but, I wanted to put a dedicated "carputer" to it. I had no Idea there were going to be so many options.. After countless hours of reading I have gathered a lot of info and I thank you guys GREATLY! here are my thoughts

I want a Laptop based system becuase of the low heat, Low Power, it's small and if need be easily removable.
I currently have a Pioneer Avh7500dvd which plays dvd, cd, mp3, Tv Tuner and has an option to hook up Navi for another $250 or so dollars.. but, I've read GPS for PC can be had for about $85-$100 plus the software (IGuidance)
As far as the Display is concerned I have 2 options.... Somethig like a K90 touch screen in the din above my pioneer or a Lilliput 7" touch screen in the driver side visor.
I have already bought a 400/800 peak watt Inverter that I will probably hardwire to the car batt.
I just don't know where to start collecting parts or maybe I should get a whole laptop.. What are some of the basic things I'm going to want in a Laptop purchase... I am looking for an inexpensive system with some good copabilities (I don't mind spending more on the display)
I know you guys are tired of answering these ques.. and I'm sorry
If somone could list the things I could do with what I have or what I should get..or maybe some different options I may have using my exsiting poineer..

Here is a pic of my interior, there is also a TV monitor in the pass. visor. I did all the work my self

    and the extrior

    gauges are Nissan Data Scan

from www.nissandatascan.com It monitors all sorts like injector duty & time, AFM, Volts, RPM, Speed, Temps, Timing, Lamba, and can be used to do performance tests, clear fault codes, and run diagnostic tests.

I believe there is a Toyota equivelant out there somewhere

Man, that is SWEET! Is it for OBDII cars only or can a program like this be run on OBDI

they're fine the vrooms, just a little short on space, and I use an M2 - Had some minor issues with it though

The OBD software is a Nissan Proprietry OBD system, its sort of enhanced OBD1, its called Nissan Consult. Later Nissans are generic OBD2 though

Not sure about the Toyota's, you'd need to check the Supra forums for that... Search here first, then if no luck ask out loud.

    Thanks ShawJohn!

This voompc-2 already comes with the M2 installed ... did you have any other issues?

    Thanks for all the info!
