they say they guarantee it. Maybe send them an email and ask for their return policy if you are not happy.

No idea if it would work with an alpine screen, but why would you want it if you alpine screen is not VGA? The only way would be to buy it and try.

Garbage in/Garbage out...a composite or S-video will not be VGA quality.

basically all it does is take the upscaling usually done on the monitor circuitry (assuming a VGA monitor is being fed composite or svideo) and puts it on a little black box. There are advantages to doing this, but it doesnt matter if you are then going to take this upscaled image and downscale it again onto a non-vga screen!

Basically the signal is only as good as the lowest quality signal. Ever. If you had a VHS tape, and played it on your new 72" HDTV, the VHS signal doesnt magically become high def. The tv cannot artificially reproduce pixels that just arent there. Same with this little box. It can guess, same thing if you rescale a picture on your computer, it becomes pixelated but bigger.

So it will be a waste of your money.
