    Question about keyboards and mice

I see some carpc owners have included a keyboard and mouse in thier install. Is this required? Would the touchscreen be enough to use the basic functions of the carpc and the keyboard/mouse be used during setup or troubleshooting?

I'm asking because there is not alot of room in my vehicle, (regular cab Toyota pickup).

you don't need a keyboard for your install.. In most case you would never use a keyboard in your install. But when working on the car pc it is very useful to have a key board. And there are other times when it couple be found useful..

In my case i found a nice sturdy keyboard to toss in my car mainly to have in case i want need to do something with a lot of typing.

originally i had decided on Adesso 2.4GHz RF Wireless Mini USB Keyboard but after that broke in my house i decided to look for something that can handle a bit more abuse. I can't find the link, but one of the reviews basically said that the guy would feel safe lobbing the keyboard at the wall.

But if you don't have room for the keyboard. they make an assorment of mini keyboards. and any time you really need to enter in text on the screen you could have a touchscreen keyboard come up.

    tiny keyboard

Head over to your local video game supplier. I bought a keyboard for about $30 that is the size of a deck of cards. It was made to work with a Play Station.

I am also building a carputer for my regular-cab Toyota pickup.
