    First PC...specs..comments

Will this work for my truck

    Aopen MP945-VX
Intel Pentium Core Duo 1.6 GHz
    1GB Ram
120 GB Hard Drive, Windows XP

Would this be a good system to start with?

Sure...there shouldn't be any problem. You will need to consider the PSU for it as well. Thank you for posting this on the forums. This way someone else who is searching for this same product will come across this thread and see the comments and results.

A quick search for the model number netted this: Aopen core duo prebuilt MP945 computer????

please explain...I'm new to all of this, and have no idea as to what I need.
I would think that one of the carnetix power supplies (p2140) would work. But, to be honest, I really don't know. I will probably need a 4 to 7 usb hub to be able run run soundcard, tv, mouse, keyboard, gps, etc. whatever else is needed.

Don't worry about the power, the p2140 will handle your configuration with ease. I'm currently running an Aopen core 2 duo mini-itx board, 7 usb devices, 7200 rpm 2.5" HD off the p2140 and its only consuming a maximum of 40watts
