    Neon Wires

    Hello,

    What gauge wire do i need to extend the neon wire that runs from the neon light? I need the wire extending and if you could help it will be appreciated.

    what neon wire for what neon light? Thicker the wire the better but it depends on the power, the length, etc. Provide some more information.

    Right, but it depends on the voltage and current he's running.

    If he needs to extend the wires past the ballasts where the voltage is measured in the kilovolts and the current in milliamps, then the wires can't be very long (I would say no more than twice the current length) or else the neons would flicker or not work at all.

    Otherwise, the table posted above helps tremendously.

    Do you mean a real neon light...or the backlight of a lcd display?

    In either case you need a wire with enough insulation to handle high voltages...no I don't know how high...but somewhere in the kilovolt range.
