    Unhappy Unexplained sound problem

Hey guys, yet another problem. This all started about 2 weeks ago. I come outside to get a loud buzzing static sound from my front speakers. I wiggle the wires a bit and everything is fine until another few days and them the same sound. So I plug the front speakers out from the sound card and just have the rear and sub hooked up. Thinking its just a bad port on the sound card, I decide to pick one of those 2 to 1 headphone adapters from Radio Shack. In the middle of this I realize that not only is the sound coming from that bad port but also the other port now so all speakers sound bad. And then, the same thing happenes to the sub woofer; its not the same exact sound but a low static buzzing but on the same level.

My first thought was that my amp went bad, but the sub and speakers arent conneceted to the same amp but getting the same buzzing sound.

I took my Ipod as well as a laptop to the car hooked the headphone out to the sub and it worked flawlessly. Did the same thing with the speakers hooked up to the amp and no sound at all (not sure if this is normal or not) but when I did hooked these back up to the sound card I got the same static.

I also tried swapping out sound cards and even tried using the onboard sound. So that makes 3 different sound cards ive tested.

Im thinking something that connects the the soundcard to the motherboard got screwed up somehow and is causing this. Also, can someone explain why I get no sound from the subwoofer when hooked up to the laptop and and ipod but nothing from the speakers, not even static.

Sorry for the length of this and thanks in advance for the help.

No response? Well, I took the PC in the house and tried my desktop speakers and they worked flawlessly. My next thought is that the AV wires are bad, all of them. All three of them were brought off of E-bay, most likely came from the same batch and most likely went bad at the same time. This is my next thought like said before.

Once again, if anyone can help, please chime in.

    Thanks guys.

Check your cables. Also have a close look at your grounds. you may have a bad ground. Another thing to look at is you may have a power cable and audio cable too close together. That can sometimes induce noise into your audio signal.

Took the cables out this morning and will be getting replacements todat on my break. But whats weird is there was no static at all when I tried the IPOD and laptop in the car and no static at all when I tried the CarPC in the house. Ill still try new cables but I have lots of doubt that all 3 of them went bad at the same time. This is so frustrating.

Also, to the other poster, im not sure if it is my ground. The PC was working flawlessly with the current grounds and the static only started recently, and it wasnt all speakers that were picking up the noise. But they gradually all started acting up with a ouple of days.

    Thanks guys.

I still say you should follow it like it's ground noise.

Things come loose, things fall into cracks and get pinched, etc.

If your ground wasn't 100% solid in the first place, then over time it will loosen up and cause these problems.

Ill check both grounds...again. The Amp ground was perfect when I checked it the other day. Have to check inverter ground I guess, which was pretty solid when I initially installed it. The PC board was never grounded though which I have read should be done, but has been working fine without.

It's gotta be a ground somewhere, thats the only thing I can think of.
Yes, that really IS my car, sad, though it may be, I'm putting a computer in it.
