    Hello from Mauritius

Hello I'm a newbie from Mauritius - tiny island next to Madagascar in the indian ocean. I have a pioneer DEHP 7650mp. i want to attach my ipod to it. However you don't get any of those Auxiliary Input Converters over here. I can get a spare cd changer cable though. Does anyone know how to attach RCA Jacks to one of those.
    Thanx

As far as I understand, the problem with fashioning your own auxiliary input via connection to the CD changer input is that some of the signals cannot be easily replicated. If you had a CD changer installed, all you'd have to do is tap into the audio channels of that cable, ensure a CD was playing, and install a toggle switch midwire so that the audio signal amplified would be that of the ipod. As far as what signals are necessary to "short out" the pins to make your head unit believe a CD changer is attached, I'm not sure...I'm working on that myself with my Ford Ranger stock head unit and so far unsuccessful...so hopefully you have some luck.

Try this website, it's for a Pioneer head unit, which are all set up about the same...hopefully this might work out for you.
