Helping friend with a carputer for his camry

Ok my friend is looking at getting a flip out touch screen cd/dvd player headunit. I recommended him to take a look at carputers instead. He currently has a cheap headunit, 2 12" sony subs, a rockford fostgate amp, and 2 headrest monitors with composite inputs. Could anyone give me an estimate of how much it would cost for the following:

Touch screen (preferably a headunit with cd player)
a carputer with a 120GB Hdd that can play movies and music and thats all it needs to do.
The ability to hook it up to his current audio system and video system?

Could this be done for under $500?

Touchscreen won't work with a PC. Video quality is relegated to RCA (TV) out, and will be of mediocre quality AT BEST.

Not unless you or he have the PC components lying around already.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

    First and foremost: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/advf...ew&advfaqid=17

Read that before you go any further.
