Can I install a mini in my 98 civic??????

2K1 Toaster, i'll try this week to attempt to gain access to the centre console and see what is underneath. By looking at my current setup, I don't think the vents will fit where my tape deck is. The vents look larger than the tape deck itself, unless the black moulding around the tape deck can come off.

Not the vents, just the controls.

2K1: After I went to bed I realized you meant the controls not the vents. What about the Mini? Should I just put it in the glove box?

How much do you like having the cig lighter there? Possibly a good place for the Mini.... maybe do something like what BugByte did with his.... Bugbyte's 2001 New Beetle -Mac Mini Install

explorecaves....I actually don't have a cig. lighter, just a power outlet. Anyhow, same deal. But what did you have in mind? Cut away the area and make a spot for the mini? just above the tape deck in the place of the lighter? It's a possibility. I'd have to see what is behind there, and i am weary of cutting my dash. Once you cut you can't go back. I'll look into it though.

Even if you do screw up with that part of the console, it looks like it is its own piece.... probably find a spare one in a junk yard for a couple bucks.... or even get a replacement online (quick search looks like the price would be about $50 if you do really screw up or don't like it at all - and it is its own piece).
