Newbie to CarPCs - Question about overheating

    Hello All:
I'm a newbie to the CarPC, but have had one in the car for about 3 or 4 months. I'm using a Dell SX280 SFF Desktop PC as the PC. I'm running into a problem and was wondering if anyone has encountered the same problems.

I live in AZ, and in the summer its ~200 degrees in my truck where I keep the CarPC. Do the in-dash CarPCs like the lilliput tc1000 deal well with the heat? Is there anything out there that deals with intense heat?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I never had a problem w/ a screen in the heat, only in the cold. LCDs react very slowly in the winter until they heat up.

    Plan for adequate cooling, certainly.
There are systems that use low-power CPUs (like teh Via C3 and C7) that draw very little power and extrude very little heat as well.

A Via M10000 botherboard with a Via C3 CPU onboard doesn't have a coolin fan, just a large heatsink.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
