When I'm done I hope my system will have:

    -GPS navigation
    -Bluetooth hands free
    -Valentine One radar detectior interface
    -mp3/vid.playback and picture viewing
    -WiFi connectivity
    -FM radio
    -XM radio

Maybe even HVAC controls if I can swing it.

Do you think this setup would be sufficient?

    Via 12000G mobo
    512mb DDR RAM
    80 Gb HDD
    M1-ATX
    BU-353 GPS Receiver
    Bluetooth dongle
    Mic
    7" lilliput TS

Can someone outline the differences between lilliput and xenarc screens?

    Thanks

    -Chris

Xenarc is supposedly made in the US (but judging from the insides I think they are made in China assembled in the US), and Lilliput and all other brands are made in China.

That is the only difference. Xenarc are supposed to have better reliability, but I have seen equal problems with both.

With your setup I suggest getting the M2. The M1 is sufficient, but for $10 more, you get a lot more juice. Also personally, the HD space is a bit on the low side but you can always add another drive.

For HVAC controls, you know what I would suggest. The Fusion Brain.

    Other than that, looks good.

When will servo control be available for fusion brain?

Is the Fusion Brain your invention?

And yes I am the coinventor.

I am in the same boat as INH as we noth drive crxes. All of the function controls(fan speed, head, feet, defog, a/c, etc.) are electronic, however, the mixer control for the temperature is cable driven.

I don't think I can swing a transflective screen. Will this be a big hindrance? My windows are tinted....

Transflective is a league above non-transflective.

    Guess which is which.

If you are brave you can try the 3M upgrade (costs about $40 for the sheets, or free if you are really lucky), but you have to disassemble your screen. I am not talking about taking it out of its casing like you have do to for fabrication, but I mean the partthe TS lies over, comes apart into like 10 pieces to get to the raw LCD and backlight. Not for the faint of heart. And the improvement is good, but without an optically bonded TS, you still get glare, but the overall readability is better.

Darquepervert, I searched "CRX" and read where you lost your rex. Do you miss it?

No progress yet. Does anyone know where I can find a plug that fits into the cd changer port on a pioneer head unit and a pinout for it? The reason I ask; version 1.1 of my carpc I will probbably retain my HU because I don't have the money for a HQCT and a good amp. Plus, in the meantime, I would like to have a way to plug my ipod into my stereo.
