    Linux Carputer, Wine, RoadRunner

    Hello,

I searched and the term Linux never shows up in my searches... I'm curious to see if anyone has used a Linux carputer and then used RoadRunner via Wine, since there are no currently completed front ends for Linux (that I've found).

I would like to have a completely open-source carputer project (eventually), thus linux...

So... why use roadrunner if you're using linux?

There are some guys/girls? who have used linux successfully, without road runner though. They usually created their own frontend

    Hello,

Are there any front ends that are currently still being updated, for Linux? I'm in no way capable of making my own front-end, which is why I was asking about using an existing windows front end (roadrunner) on linux via wine.

    Thanks,
    Joel

From what I have seen on the forums the main issue with a Linux front end is the GPS/Navigation side. There are no real goos solutions available at the moment but I am sure they are being worked on.

I remember a thread a while ago where someone was trying to get FreeDrive (A destinatoor based GPS) working using wine but was having issues with some of the VB runtime files.

So I guess RoadRunner might well have similar issues as it too is written in VB.

    However why not try it?
