Nub With Scooby - Tired of OEM Nav

    Hey y'all. Here's my ride:

    http://legacygt.com/forums/vbpicgall...do=view&g=1242

Have never been ecstatic about the Denso sourced, severely locked down, KNADV3200 based Nav and crummy OBD sensor interface. Had a guy named Stephan help my out with some schmatics about 1 year ago - very helpful guy.

Upgraded my turbo and a bunch of other stuff recently now all my MPG on the NAV is off. So, I'm now thinking of maybe ripping everything out for a custom carputer.

    Just sayin' hello.

Is the screen transflective? You might get lucky and be able to use the stock screen and touch function with a vga input to the ic's and then take the 4 wire interface into a USB touch controller. Transflective screens are lots of money, and if you have one that is already fabbed, that may breath some new life into the old crap.

Not sure. Not even sure what transflective means! I'm a carputer Nub! I can tell you that it's a Kenwood FGZ-000UF2 (Subaru branded DDX 7015 ) in combination with a KNA 3200. The screen definitely takes external input via a Molex connector, and also accepts backup video camera natively and automatically. I really do home I can use the screen for this project. It fits perfectly, obviously, and would save me some $$$.

Hey Sublo, did you ever have any luck with your install? What did you end up doing? I'm looking at the exact same thing.
