What would a "pizza-specific" mod be?

All I can think of is something from the cutting room floor of Monster Garage where you install a pizza oven in your back seat or somesuch.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

pizza specific mods being anything that helps dealing with tourists and customers, or something that saves me time.

A luggage hook in the passenger seat that holds the pizza from flying when you have to slam on your brakes because there is somebody going the wrong way on a highway on ramp. (happens a lot in orlando)

a stopwatch like mercedes used to install for lap times, but used to time different routes at different times of day

heated seat element to keep the pizza a little warmer.

hardwired power source for the car topper.

    remote start obviously saves time.

Fog lights aimed out for neighborhood driving

fans to be used at idle and with thermostat.

alarm with motions sensors in doors, I have a convertible

Im not modifying my paint, and I hate dominoes and pizza hut..

spot lights like on the Highway patrol mustangs because of the crowd of people who order pizza then turn off every light in their house. they're my favorite, those and the people painting their houses who take off every single number and turn off their lights.

led accent lighting on the inside so I can see the customer information.

Just BS like that, mostly because I'm bored and I want to see if I can do it.

I'm also doing the mustang rear seat delete, don't know what I'm gonna do with the space though? probably just custom MF board with my amp and subs setup?

I really want GPS as well, just a map of the area would work on a daily basis

since I spend so much time in the car I need my music as well

I know what you're thinking and no I'm not a 17 year old.. just a bored 27 year old in need of a project car. And no I don't know the first thing about computers.

Sounds kinda cool, just as long as you still get your @ss to my house in time.

How about a heads up display as well? Real time GPS on the windshield... and maybe a bullhorn so you can yell "WHO ORDERED THE DAMN PIZZA!!"

Those are all great ideas, and easily implementable. If you're a mechanic and have installed car audio before, then you shouldn't have much problem installing a car computer beyond the configuring the computer itself.

I have a 98 Mustang GT coupe, but I'm pretty familiar with the 5.0 cars. I think the primary issue you'll run into with a 1990 convertible will be space for the computer and audio system. As I remember, the folded convertible top will takes up quite a bit of the already limited trunk space. If you don't mind losing your rear seats, you could do some really cool pizza-specific stuff (like a flat, enclosed, custom built area for holding the pizzas during transport with integrated warming) AND have plenty of room for your computer and audio equipment.

I think you should also carefully consider how to protect your investment...installing an audio system, LCD screens, and lots of interior LCD lighting in a convertible that you probably leave running at the curb at night while you deliver pizzas sounds like an invitation for theft (and possibly carjacking as well).

Good luck with the install, and keep reading the forums...there's enough experience and help here to do everything you want and more...

Yea, I thought about investing all this in a car that will be used hard and exposed to theft and all kinds of bad things.. probably a bad idea and I might change my mind and use the system in a different car, either my 1955 buick or my dodge ram? especially with this car being a convertible and pizza delivery listed as the third most dangerous job in my city, I also turn my car on and off about 20 times a day and some runs are too short to really benefit from all the computer goodies?
I could go either way at this point, at the very least she's getting some sort of ipod system. the rear seat is sitting on the ground behind me and a pile of MDF board is calling my name... I have so many surplus supplies from other custom installs that my actual cost will be limited.
I thought about a heads up display but last time I checked you had to have a custom thousand dollar piece of glass??

oh well, we'll see what develops with this thing, I'm basically just bored and looking for something to thrash on this weekend. I could just end up with a plain monitor/receiver with some mdf work covered in black carpet?
