Newbie here.. needs some help in installing carputer

hi all..
m planing to hook my old desktop in my car.. currently m using 4.1 channel with pioneer DEh-8650 Head unit(built in DSP). this HU has 3 RCA outputs (front, rear and sub). with 2 4channel amps one conneting to all four speakers ( 2 fornt and 3 rear) and other amp for two subs.

looks kinda messy in the pic.. lol..

so now my question--->1. will i be able to get 4.1 sourround sound if i connect my pc's audio out to my HU? or i gotta go the other way i.e. to connect sound card to the amps directly.
2. i havent purchased the screen as yet, as m confused wt size shoud i go for to fit in my dash.
3. where will i get cheap and gud quality touch screen. ( mp3car.com's store is expensive)
4. where should i hook my screen ?? heres the pic of my dash.

i am more into SQ so i need sorround sound.

5. i want to make use of my carputer as much as possible as i dont want any 1 to say that m using it just for the song's playback. suggest me how can i use it more.

6. if u connect sound card directly to the amps, is there any software avalible with which i can adust fadder from front to rear (left and right are alwayz there). i can use this in my HU and i dont want to this from my amps.

i installed blaukpunkt component speaker system for front and used its tweeter in the windsheild . u get a good clear sound from there.. . click the pic.

1. Yes. The HU should split up a simple stereo into whatever it can output.
2. Measure your dash to find out.
3. Cheap does not equate to good. Ebay = cheap. mp3car store = good.
4. See #2.

Depends on the make'model of the scree. There are threads with lots of information about common brands/models of screens, including sizes of the bare panels, the bezels, etc.
Time to start searching for your own information. It's all here for you to find.

The headunit should accomplish that seperation.

Would you have 4.1 coming from the PC? No. It would be simple stereo.
Would you have 4.1 coming from the headunit? Yes, if the headunit outputs 4.1. Some do, some don't. Consult your manual.

i really cud'nt find it my the manual..

so if i need 4.1 split then i gotta use sound card supporting 5.1 channel and dircetly hook it the amps, rite.
is there any other way as i wanna use my HU. coz i have a wireless remote on my steering wheel and it gets easy to access on the volume control and eq controls.

4.1 is just 4 speakers and a sub. If your mobo has 3 ports, and a AC97 chipset, chances are you can get 5.1 out of it. Since you dont have a centre speaker, you will be using 4.1

1/8" stereo jack to dual RCA's for each output (3) into your cooresponding amps. You will lose your line in and microphone. Of course with a better soundcard, it has 5.1. 7.1, 11.1, out in addition to inputs and perhaps a gamepad port.

yaa i knw i can do that and can have 5.1 7.1 11.1..but i want to use my HU along . thats why i asked will my HU be able to splie into 4.1 after i use 1/8" stereo jack to dual RCA in AUX IN from my carputer??

And this is where you need to determine the capabilities of your headunit.

Any AUX IN for the headunit is going to be a simple stereo input.
Does your headunit have preamp outputs? How many?

If you don't have the manual for your headunit, the try checking the manufacturer's website. Most of them have digital versions of product manuals available for the downloading.

The headunit will send an audio signal out in whatever configuration is available from the headunit. Most headunits output 4-channel stereo (front & rear, left & right). Better-quality headunits can output 4-channel stereo + sub (4.1).
If your headunit can output 4.1, then it will "upconvert" the simple stereo input into the 4.1 output, yes. (Is "upconvert" the correct term?)
