    Question about boot from cf

    Hi everybody
I got a question. My system is amd sempron 3400 and 2gb ram and 250gb hard drive. So far it loads windows XP pro in 50sec. Hybrenate is like 30-40. I will strip os some more and play with settings to get better boot times. But I heard many people using cf to boot pc. Most of them got 512mb ram so they can go with 1 gb cf. In my case I will need 4 gb cuz of my ram. So is it even worth it to go cf? I mean boot time will be about same as hd or faster?
Question #2 is will I be able to install some additional software after that?
    Thanks.

I can't really use search because I'm using my blackberry for web browsing and I can't make this website to work in normal mod. I see it in mobile view with no pics and some buttons (search is one of them). Sorry. But I was looking through forum and I've found most of my answers.
So can somebody tell me which cf is better to use. I can't decide between 2gb and 4gb. From what I understand smaller cf will boot faster (correct me if its not true). But if its about same as 4gb then I probably will get 4. This way I still can use hibrebate and no have to worry about space. So which one should I get? Also how hard is to put XP+rr+iGuidance+some drivers on 2gb cf? I just need your suggestion guys. Thanks.

If you;re using hybernate you'll wat at least 4gb. As hybernate dumps all your RAM to HDD.

Yes I know that. But do you guys think hibernate from 4 gb cf will be faster than just cold boot from 2 gb cf?

using HORM it'll be faster yes, but you need to make sure the CF card you're using supports hibernation. you need a CF card that comes from the manufacturer in "fixed" drive mode, versus removable. You should also look at some of the newer UDMA CF cards.

If you plan on having the navigation maps installed then you definitely want at least 4GB.
