    MK4 - CarPC - Hardware Review

    Have to say AWESOME Community!

I've been a member for over a month, just absorbing information, reading & learning. From complete CaPC noob, to a decently informed enthusiast. This is my first real post, I'm ready to take on the challenge...

    40GB 2.5in Hard drive
    (already have)

I have a MK4, i'm going to build a case for the computer in the stereo compartment. I have a few topic's bookmarked concerning other mk4 installs, very useful.

    - fuse tap for power
    - Win XP Slimmed
    - RoadRunner Interface

Real point of this post is the Lilliput EBY701? How does it stack up?

In this thread it seems awesome...
    Lilliput 629gl (2005) vs. EBY701-NP/C/T (not 56k friendly!)

They do mention size in a double din might be an issue... even if im creating a custom bezel?

The OP says he has it running at 800x600 res, but the website shows a res of DOTS PIXELS:1152000 pixels(800*480), whats up with this?

    You're going to slime WinXP?

I know you mean "slimmed". I know it's a typo. We all do it.

You can search for information about the EBY701. Other users have used them and there are a number of discussions about it, as I'm sure you're aware.
You can run 800x600 resolution (which you will with that Via board), but 800x480 is the native resolution.

You're also going to need a 2.5" HDD adapter if it's an IDE drive. not sure about a SATA drive.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
