    Introduction and Questions.

    Hello all,
I am new to the community and find the idea of setting up a CarPC very intriguing. I am a systems admin for a medical clinic, so the PC setup is no problem. I am curious, however, on what kind of screen i should go with. I starting using a tablet for my CarPC, but hate the idea of using a pen. I like the look of the motorized screens, but how do they hold up? Thanks for the answers!

I'm very weary of cheap motorised screens, and the quality manufacturers don't tend to make products for the CarPC market.

However I'm sufficiently happy with the build quality of my 8inch touchscreen (non pop up). No need for a pen either - finger presses work fine.

What type of screen do you have, and more importantly, how much did it cost?

CheapDevotion - I'd suggest you do a bit of searching. The store here: http://store.mp3car.com would be a great place to start looking for screen options and pricing.

I got on of the "shark" 8inch touchscreens from http://www.gooddeals18.com/

There are definetly better screens out there (i.e. sunligh readability isn't great), but for the price the build quality was better than i had expected.
