I have a Tacoma and I sacrificed the rear jumpseats for my install.
Be creative. Pull off door panels and see how much room you have behind them.
You can also utilize a glove box, console or storage areas.
I'm not totally set on even getting a carputer yet as I'm wondering on where I would install the screen at. It is a 2004 F150 Heritage (same body style as a 2003).
I'm think most people in here will say something bad about a few things in this post, but I'm set on one of them (the first one).
I like my radio and don't have any intentions of taking it out and putting the screen in its place so that option is out. I also want to leave my STX logo in the spot above the radio. So basically I'm set on not modifying that area at all. Pics of that area can be found below, but they are not the greatest as I wasn't planning on needing a picture of that area yet. (Second one is while I was removing the dash to paint it).
Kind of gives an idea of the radio area, but not really:

During dash removal:
Bad Picture 2
Now I will get a better picture taken of the truck in the next couple of days and post here.
With that being said, the only other place I could think of putting it (and here is where people will say no) is remove the drivers side airbag in the steering wheel and make a custom mount in that area. But I don't know if a screen would even fit as I don't have one picked out as I was just trying to figure out what my possibilities are.
I've already had the passenger side airbag out and back in (painted the cover) so I don't mind messing with them.
And now for the last area I could think of. Make a mount underneath the seat, right beside the drivers seat and make it where the screen could slide out when I needed it and slide under when not in use and also where the screen will be removable from that bracket so it doesn't get damaged when I get the seats recovered.
Thanks

If this is in the wrong section please move it.

Most seem to do what Darque did (check the Show Off Your Project thread).
Crawdaddy on these forums is building his inside a console he is making.
Well I want it somewhere that is easily seen and accessible from the drivers side of the truck.
I searched for f150 in the Show Off Your Project thread and it seemed as most people with Ford Trucks are putting them in the dash.
My rear seat storage area is already holding 2 10" subs in a box made for that area with the amp for them underneath the drivers seat.
I'm not concerned as to where mount the pc or anything else as I could always house it in the bed of the truck if needed. It is just the screen that is hanging me up.
computer under the dash, pass side seat, under the seat where the trans hump is, or even in the center console then do a drop down from the roof. i believe the fo*ds have a light there but cant swear to it.
those drop-down screens, how easy are they to be removed for painting? I have my whole interior painted so I would need to paint that assembly as well so it would match.
