New to car PC's is this a good setup?!

Hey guys, I just recently purchased a carputer, and was wondering how my selections have gone?!

I am picking up the system seen here:
    http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1344166

and I will be running sound through an Eclipse CD3000 H/U. Hoping that I am comprehending everything the way I should, as I have been reading ALOT on these forums lately...

    Your input is greatly appreciated!

    IT's more than adequate.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

    you need a gps receiver.

Also you may want to buy a sound card if want to get rid of your eclipse headunit alltogether.

oh yeah, if you add a rear camera, don't use a webcam, that computer isn't fast enough to run one.. I found out the hard way. Besides that, seems like a good deal.

Thanks for the input guys! I am going to keep the HU for now, just for the ease of using CD's still. As for the GPS reciever, I am looking into that as we speak. Anything you can recommend?! Thanks again!

You don't NEED a GPS receiver.
Granted, it's a must-have if you wnat GPS navigation. If that's not in your plans, then you don't need a GPS receiver.

There is a whole thread of GPS receiver recommendations here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/faq-...-receiver.html

Sorry to bump this from the dead. Ran into a few issues with the setup. 1-I cant seem to get the intelligent PS to work. I have read about the polarity issues with the m2-atx switch, and wondered if there was a writeup that i missed on how to properly test/hook this up?? ALSO, the monitor is missing the VGA cable...the one from the breakout cable to the VGA on the pc. i have looked at a few sites that sell these cables, and none of them look to be correct?! ANY help is appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!
