This probably has been covered and I searched and came up empty. Is there any way to use an external hdd(mass storage device)as a read only hdd with about 80 gigs of music and connect to a head unit via usb input.I'm looking for a diffrent way to do the carputer thing because my mobo onboard video crapped out and I'm about tired of messing around with it.Any help or other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i had a H&B head unit with USB on the only limit it was supposed to have was the number of mp3s, (even tho i had more then what the manual said it could handle and it worked fine). but bear in mind your HU scans the drive/files first
if i was you i would find a sterio i liked the look of and search and see
i will try and find out what model mine was
i did read that there was people connecting 4/5 hard-drives but making them switch selectable
HU was: H&B CA-5555
