Hi, I am new to this site, I was directed here while trying to locate some help to build a DC to DC power converter I think that is what it would be considered. Any who Hi to every one on the site.

I don't know about building one, but you can buy a dc-dc power like the 160W M2-ATX or go with a higher wattage product like the Opus.

I will try to clairfy what I am wanting to do. I have added a Clarion NICE 430 Gps unit with MP3 ability and Blue tooth compatible. I tried the 12 volt charger that came with the unit and when I plug it into the cigarette lighter I get a lot of noise thru the speakers with out the engine running so I know it is not altenator/stator noise or ignition noise I am picking up. If you unplug the charger the noise goes away. Of course when the charger is unpluged the unit reverts to the internal li-ion battery which will only last about 2 hours. I want to build or buy a power source with high filtering that will power the unit as well as recharge the battery. I know it can be done if I can find out what it will take to build it.
