Happened to stumble on this forum while doin some research. A friend is building a custom carpc for me as a fav.
The gps feature of a carpc, is it something like what you would load into a laptop or is it a stand alone device reading thru the car pc? forgive the dumb question but .... it aint dumb if you dont have an answer right?

Just think of the car pc has a scaled down version of the home pc but with usally a smaller touch screen. Thus your GPS software runs on your car computer along with a GPS antenna connected to the computer. The only trick is the interface. Since most car screens are small and its a bit tricking using a mouse while driving you need a touch screen friendly GPS program. Does that help any??
