Hello everyone, I finally decided to register for this site after reading and searching here for over a month. I just want to thank everyone who has made mp3car what it is today. I can't really think of any specific problems I have right now that has not already been covered in detail somewhere in the forums, I have already found answers to about a dozen questions I have had so far along the way

Last week I finally set up a temporary carputer under my driver's seat - I removed the screen from my compaq presario laptop (~1.7ghz AMD sempron, 512MB Ram, 40GB HD) and connected it to a Lilliput eby701 7" touchscreen that I mounted in front of my Alpine deck (the screen can be clipped into place just in front of the deck, and can be removed easily so that it does not get stolen or damaged). I installed a switch in my dash that is soldered to the power button on the laptop so I can control the computer's power manually. Currently the computer is powered with an inverter, although sometime soon I plan on removing the laptop and replacing it with an itx machine I got for free from a friend, along with a DC/DC power supply.

I just thought that I would introduce myself and share what I have so far, if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free.
