Hey all... I'm currently planning my CarPC. I'm very well versed in computers (I've built plenty in the past) but haven't built one in a while so I am a bit stale on hardware.
I am planning on using my CarPC MAINLY for:
(in order of use)
- GPS
- Engine Management
- Media playback (mostly music, videos every once and while)
- Backup Camera (?)
- Phone Connection
I want to use a VoomPC-2 case (mounting in glove box) so need a motherboard that will fit in the case. Also, I was planning on using the M3-ATX PSU -- but am not sure if it will fit inside of the case also.
I've been looking around for quite a while and can't really come to a decision on a motherboard.
I've looked at the Intel D201GLY2(-A), but am not sure if it will fit inside the VoomPC-2 case. And also looked at the EPIA (MII) boards, as well as the Albatron boards. I just really don't know which way to go.
I want to make a decision and get started on this project. I'd really appreciate any help you guys can give
I've read that the Intel D201GLY2A fits inside the VoomPC-2 case. Get the M2-ATX-160 watt power supply and the $5 P4 power adapter too, as this will offer plenty of power and fits inside the case nicely.
Look into RoadRunner as your front end. The BU-353 GPS works great and even works inside my garage.
Interesting. That's good to know if I go that route. I am still unsure of which motherboard to use.
I am most likely going to use the BU-353. I just need to find a place to mount it so it's hidden
