alright sports fans. I'm thinking about switching to centrafuse because of the lack of RR options. I can't seem to get phone working or a decent OBDII to work and no voice control either. Seems like its just an audio video player now....... :-(

Cf boot with XP pro embedded

Bxsteez, you right on cf boot up. Access time is faster compare to typcial HDD. Least power consumption and handle better extreme weather in your ride. I doing the same with my carpc. But here another way. There this Windows XP call XP Embedded. It boot up quick then the Xp Pro. Here same info on it => http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/embedded/aa731409.aspx. I created a imaged that only least then 400mb. The only thing your have to custom XP image and it not for retail, but if you google search for the forums you find it.

I decided to use a custom box instead of a computer case. Mannnn the software is just annoying i completely got rid of RR cause too much stuff just doesn't work. No phone control, no OBD, and no Voice control. The only thing that works well is audio, video, radio i believe and navigation oh and google earth. Centrafuse has a skype plugin which is nice!!!

i might end up doing the same (custom case) since i am setting up a plasma cad thing-a-majig at the shop soon. the other option is to try and use an empty matching amp case, i dunno...

my focus is more on audio/video, diagnostics and tuning, and accessory control so hopefully the software wont be a big deal on my project. i'm not going to have any wifi, bluetooth, etc.

Yea there are no decent looking obdII plugins for RR but they say theya re working on them. I saw someone had a BMW skin where he had window control and door lock control. I think it was through obdII i'm not sure though
