Well I have finally taken the step and building my job (IT) into my hobby Car audio. I am in the middle of car replacement.. Jeep Wrangler is not a good candidate for carputer. I am starting with a Dell SX260. But Love the forum.. and plan on learning a lot and maybe even Helping a little. There are three of us building them together. Planning on using CF for front end.
Built a couple Logo's already..
SO Hello all.
Welcome to the forums! I recommend that you pick 3 front ends, that you think are suitable for your system, and give them each a try on your desktop system. This will give you a feel for features that one has, and one does not and so forth.
It's great that 3 of you are doing the same thing at the same time, as you will definately be able to help each other overcome any hurdles and such.
Thanks for those ahead of us working out all the issues. We have been testing CF we all like features that it has. Still looking for Screens, inputs, Powersupplies. As for Cars.. A Toyota Matrix, Mini Cooper, and I am in the process of selling a Jeep Wrangler, so my car has not yet been purchased.
I agree about the wrangler not being a good candidate. LOL sold mine in January for that very reason. That and the fact that i started traveling a bit more and the wrangler was practical. My Cherokee is working out great as a travel car, and an awesome home for my carputer. Good luck with the car shopping, and happy carputering....
