    Intro: BLACKonBLACK98 Signin In

Whats going on you guys. I decided about an hour ago that a carputer was the way to go so here I am. I am on a quest to build the ultimate A32 Maxima. I have been to this site a couple times through links from other forums, but know 0 about carputers. Time to do some research...

So I jumped right in and bought an MSI GM965 motherboard and 2x 1GB compatable low prfofile RAM.

After my research yesterday heres the plan:
    VoomPC Case
    M2-ATX PSU
    Intel T7700 Processor
    250GB 2.5" SATA Hard Drive

    Any issues?

2GB of RAM seems a bit excessive, especially if you intend to use hibernate.

Well if you are using hibernation, the more memory you have, the longer t takes for it to load all the memory from disk when you resume.

ok... i read that it would take longer to boot, so same type of thing. i dont really think hybernation should be an issue. because of some of the functions i plan on running i would imagine that hiberntation would be undesirable. i'll do some research, but is there any instance when a computer needs to hibernate?

Hibernation is only really used to speed up starting car to music playing times.

If you are not planning on isung hibernation then the larger memory is not an issue, just turn off the memory checking in BIOS

I have a question.... Why is it people have issues with more RAM and hibernation. My system takes about 6 seconds to hibernate and maybe 4 to 5 seconds to start back up. Thats not long at all.... What is diffrent with your setups that it does take long.

Im running a KINO-690S1 with AMB Turion X2 processor and 2 gigs of RAM. The hibernation shouldnt really matter since your getting out your car anyways. Waking up though, I can live with 5 seconds.

Depends on how long it takes and how long before the PSU hard offs
