Help choosing car PSU

Hi

I am new and need some advice.

I have just bought the Via Artigo kit (Via EPIA PX Pico-ITX Mainboard) that I am going to put in the car.

I have been looking around and searching to find the right PSU. At first I thought the M2-ATX-HV was what I needed, then I saw the M3-ATX (which is pico sized) and others and I am now really confused as to which I should choose and use... can anyone help/advise me please?

Choosing the right power supply depends really on what ancillary devices you are going to be powering off of the PS. Devices such as harddrives, fans, wireless cards, CD/DVD roms, USB ports all require. Take a look at what your ultimate setup is going to be, then decide which PowerSupply will suit your needs.

you have two options for powering that system. according to this post in another thread, the artigo kit has a built-in DC-DC PSU. AFAIK it needs a regulated 12VDC input.

1.) you can use a 12V regulator to feed the built-in PSU, or...
2.) you can replace the built-in PSU with an ATX PSU . if you choose this route, then you'll need to figure out how many amps are required on each power rail (+3.3V, +5V, +12V) to determine what DC-DC ATX PSU if sufficient for your system.
