Noob to this have 2 important Q

I came across this website off a google page. And checked out the store I would love to purchase something like this. But I know little about this I am admitting I have not read too much on here. But I just have 2 main questions if I may.

How is the audio transfered from the PC output to the cars speakers? Do you still require an aftermarket radio with aux in for this? Im just puzzled

Upon turning the ignition wouldnt you be waiting for windows xp to boot up and seeing how computers boot up from my experience is not instant. So is this the case with the carpc? or do you folks modify so it's always on or something. I know I know these questions have probably been asked numerous times but I am trying to gather as much knowledge in a very limited time I don't have all day to search through hundreds of post just to find the answers I apologize if this post gets on anyones nerves

Through some device that provides amplification.
Read this for more details: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/advf...iew&advfaqid=7

No. The audio can go from the PC into an amplifier or amplifiers.

Yes. Many of us don't do a full shutdown of the PC, but put it in hibernate mode. Resuming from hibernation cuts the startup time down by roughly half, if not more.

There is also standby mode, but that requires some power draw to maintain the system state in RAM. That has the potential to drain your battery, however the resume from standby time is significantly faster than even a resume from hibernate.

You could always retain the headunit and make use of the aux input, if that's what you're using currently.

I just fear one thing for those who have there pc output going directly to there speakers. Anyone ever experienced windows all the sudden halting on a mp3 playback or any audio related playback for that matter especially the windows chime . Yeah I think I will go with Aux port on my existing radio. Nothing more embarassing than driving down the turnpike blasting a good song and having windows crash heck that sound alone is enough to possibly make you crash your own car. Anyway thanks for all your input

    Check fire.
PC output does not go directly to speakers. It needs to go through some device to amplify the audio signal. That could be an EQ, amplifier or headunit.

Windows sounds can be disabled. Most of us with a PC in the vehicle disable Windows sounds.

LOL, but even if you run it through a headunit you will still hear the halt sounds, unless you disable them in Windows. I disabled most of mine except USB since i have so many devices and need to know if something disconnects. All i did is simply change it to a small chime.
