1983 Mercedes Benz 300CD - Help Needed Please

I own a 300CD Benz and I want to add a Car PC to control several functions. The main function I have a question about is the Climate Control. Since my car is old, is there some gadget or software to assist me?

I'm not to worried about the windows, radio, and the other components, I know there are solutions for that. Mainly the AC controls.

Any help is needed and wanted. But please no digressing from the topic at hand.

My goal is to have a Biodiesel classic car on the outside but a state of the art car with GPS, Nav, 5.1 surround sound, and other goodies inside.

Can I suggest to use some simple relays and servo motors to control the old mechanical AC? Relays and servos are not very expensive and can replace buttons and mechanical rotating switches. Thus can be controlled by serial or USB port from the computer. I suppose the auto mode of the AC has its own thermometer...
