Help/Advice on installing large LCD running from a 12v battery
Hi
My 1st time on here and no very little about the subject I’m asking about so be gentle, but not too much!
Ok, I have a small project in mind that a friend has asked me to help implement.
The idea is to get a large LCD around 46inch running in the back of a van.
I’ve been doing some research but would appreciate any info on the correct equipment and stuff to use for the job.
Some details;
The LCD will be about 47inch ish, approx. 320 watts and a requirement of AC120/230 v (50/60Hz)
I will probably want to plug in an external DVD player also!
I think he might want to use a laptop also, but I think this will push the power requirements up and require a bigger inverter?
From what I’ve read on here and other sites it looks like I need a Pure Sine Wave Inverter to prevent interference to the screen and sound output also!
I’ve been looking at a 300w pure sine wave inverter 12vDC to 220v ac with Soft Start technology, Low battery alarm / shut down, Continuous power: 300W
Highest power: 400W, Surge power: 600W, Input volt: 12VDC/24VDC
Would this handle a screen of this type or do I need something a bit more punch or an LCD with slightly lower power requirements?
Will the van battery last that long when engine not running?
Will the van battery get enough charge if the screen is running all day (engine running)?
And lastly as an option only, would it be possible to run a UPS in the event the van battery dies so the LCD keeps running?
Sorry about the long post and thanx for any feedback
